ChatGPT can now also be used without a login or account. This was announced by developer company OpenAI. However, when used without registration, it will be a scaled down version of the AI chatbot that will be introduced gradually.

Until now, it was only possible to use ChatGPT provided that you had previously registered – either in the free basic version or as a paid Plus subscription for $19.99 per month.

But that should change from now on. The developer company OpenAI announced in an official blog post that ChatGPT should in future also be usable without a login and account.

Use ChatGPT without a login or account

ChatGPT has taken the world by storm. Although users had to register to use the tool since its introduction at the end of 2022, the AI chatbot quickly gained popularity. Like the news agency Reuters According to reports, ChatGPT is the fastest-growing consumer Internet service in the world.

Accordingly, the AI tool recorded around 100 million active users after just two months. In view of the rapid growth, OpenAI introduced the paid version ChatGPT Plus. But the company is apparently not satisfied with the subsequent user development.

Because OpenAI now wants to make ChatGPT accessible without login and prior registration. The company said: “Our goal is to make tools like ChatGPT widely available so that people can take advantage of the benefits of AI.”

OpenAI is gradually introducing use without registration

According to the company, ChatGPT can be used “immediately” without prior registration. However, OpenAI restricts that this option should be introduced gradually. Specifically, this means: It will not be available to all users immediately.

However, the company did not provide any further details. However, the option will probably first be introduced in the USA before coming to Germany and Europe.

What OpenAI did announce, however, is that the login-free version of ChatGPT will include additional protections. In contrast to the free basic version with an account, it should not be possible to share chats, save them or activate additional applications when used without a login.
