As temperatures rise, more and more people are relying on air conditioning units to cool their homes and offices. But not all models are equally good. In our weekly ranking we show you the ten best air conditioners – according to Stiftung Warentest.

The warmer it gets, the more people long for cooling down. An effective and efficient air conditioning system can ensure that the living and working environment is at a comfortable temperature on hot days. The market offers a wide range of products for this purpose. But which devices keep their promises?

The best air conditioners in comparison

Air conditioning systems should be able to do two things in particular: cool overheated rooms quickly and ensure a comfortable room temperature – and ideally without using a lot of electricity. Stiftung Warentest currently has 24 air conditioning systems in its database, including five monoblocks and 19 split systems.

The latter have proven to be more energy efficient. They have no drain hose and consist of an indoor and an outdoor unit. Installation is more complex, but they cool rooms faster and use less electricity than a mobile monoblock. In the following ranking we show you the ten best air conditioning systems according to Stiftung Warentest.

Platz 10: Mitsubishi Heavy SRK25ZS-W + SRC25ZS-W2

Tenth place in the ranking of the best air conditioners goes to the Mitsubishi Heavy SRK25ZS-W and SRC25ZS-W2. The device received the Overall grade 2.5According to Stiftung Warentest, it is particularly impressive in the safety category, where it received a partial score of 1.2. The cooling function received a quality rating of “good”, while the environmental properties and handling are considered “satisfactory”.
