Apple recently introduced a new iPhone update. If you want to test iOS 18 now, you can sign up for the beta program and download the public test version.
At this year's WWDC developer conference, Apple presented, among other things, the new iPhone operating system iOS 18. After the beta phase for developers, the publicly available beta version of iOS 18 is now available.
If you are interested in the new operating system for the iPhone, you can test it now. We will show you how it works and whether it is actually advisable to install it.
Register for the iOS 18 beta phase
If you would like to participate in Apple's beta program, you must first register once on Apple's website. You can then access the download for Apple's beta programs.
You log in using your Apple ID. If you want to try out the new iOS, make sure you enter the Apple ID that you use on your iPhone.
Step by step to iOS 18
If you have successfully registered for Apple's beta program, you can install iOS 18 on your iPhone. To do this, open the Settings on your iPhone and navigate to the General menu item.
Here you will find the software update option. After you have registered for the beta program, you now have a new option here. In addition to the automatic updates, beta updates are also available. Here you will find the iOS 18 public beta so that you can install it.
Is it advisable to install the beta version?
Before you install the beta version of Apple's iPhone operating system, you should be aware that this is an early preview version of iOS 18. The operating system has not yet been tested on a large scale. Therefore, it is quite possible that not all functions are fully developed yet.
That's exactly what the public beta is designed for. Users are supposed to find any bugs and inform Apple about them.
As a participant in the Apple Beta Software Program, you can help improve Apple software by testing pre-release versions and telling us about your experiences.
After installing the beta operating system, you may well experience problems with the software on your iPhone. Crashes cannot be ruled out, which is why you should think carefully about the installation.
