This year the fintech financing volume in Germany has increased again. In the first half of the year it was already at the level of the entire previous year. According to a study by the digital association Bitkom, German fintechs raised 730 million euros in 2023, around 80 percent less than in 2021. But investors are now becoming more active again.
The financial startup Raisin just increased its valuation to over two billion, and Tencent, among others, got involved. The lending-as-a-service provider Finmid, the insurance startup Wefox, the rental payment service provider Topi and the Munich scale-up Neoshare were able to complete further large financing rounds. Things are not looking so good for the emerging fintech star Solaris. Although settlement is off the table, financing has not yet been secured.
