Things can quickly become confusing in a chat. That's why WhatsApp now offers you a way to create lists in your messages. We'll show you how to do this and how you can add chats.
WhatsApp is the most popular messenger in Germany. According to statistics, 76 percent use the service from Meta. But if there are a lot of messages, the app can quickly become confusing. That's why WhatsApp is constantly developing new functions to make organization easier for users.
The service introduced a chat filter at the beginning of the year. The function makes it possible to find specific messages more quickly. As the company reports, the feedback was mostly positive. That's why WhatsApp decided to expand the function.
WhatsApp: Create lists and add chats – this is how it works
You now have the option to create lists. This allows you to filter your chats according to personalized categories of your choice and make it easier to keep an overview. On X (formerly Twitter), WhatsApp advertises the function as follows:
Create custom lists to filter your chats and focus on the people who matter to you at that moment.
Creating lists is incredibly easy: tap that Plus-Symbol in the filter bar at the top of the Chats tab. You can then edit these by long-pressing on a corresponding list. Similar to Favorites, you also have the option to add both group and individual chats to a list.
Rollout of the new function may take several weeks
According to WhatsApp, the new function is now available to all users. However, the roll-out may take a few weeks. At the same time, the company promises to further expand the feature in the future.
In the past few weeks, the messenger service has introduced a few other improvements. For example, contacts can be managed across devices. Users can also now add filters and backgrounds for video calls.
