Enpal is known for many things. For example, Mario Kohl's solar startup joined the club of German unicorns in 2021, just four years after it was founded. Or for its rivalry with its Hamburg competitor 1Komma5°. So far, Enpal is less known for its ex-employees who founded their own startups after working at Enpal.
Founder scene shows which startups were set up by ex-Enpal employees
Former Unicorn employees who become founders: According to a report by the US VC Accel, this is not uncommon. Almost 250 of the 350 unicorns in the study area – Europe and Israel – were founded by ex-employees. That's around 70 percent. The report also finds that thriving tech hubs are emerging in unicorn cities. Because 55 percent of the new startups founded by ex-employees were founded in the same city as the unicorn.
