The international VC Headline has announced a new fund: over 865 million US dollars (778.6 million euros) were raised, as the “Handelsblatt” first reported. The VCs, which was founded in Silicon Valley in 1998, now has offices in San Francisco, Berlin, Paris, London, São Paulo, Taipei and Tokyo. Headline wants to invest half of the fresh capital in European startups and thus sharpen its focus on the region. The other half is planned for the USA.
The investor's focus in this fund is on startups in the Late phase. In the future, they want to accompany these companies through to their IPO, said headline partner Christian Miele to the business magazine. According to Handelsblatt, investors include Porsche, the Otto Group, the Schwarz Group, the KfW development bank and pension funds. The VC's portfolio includes over 300 companies, the best known of which include Mistral, Bumble, Wellhub, Raisin, Honeycomb and Staffbase.
