In the “Homescreen!” series, we regularly present the home screens of people from the social media, marketing, media and tech industries – including app recommendations and tips for everything from to-do lists to quick games. Today: Simon Bail, founder and managing director of OneClimate.
Simon Bail: My smartphone is – despite all my love for analogue – the control centre of my life. And my home screen is structured in the same way as I structure my everyday life: folders help me enormously to find the right app as quickly as possible. Be it for “finances”, “mobility” – where I rely on shared mobility with BVG (for Android) or Miles (for Android) – or “collaboration” to have my professional tools to hand.
OneClimate: Simon Mail uses Slack for internal communication
At OneClimate, for example, we use Slack (for Android) for internal and external communication with partners and the Google Suite. The all-round package is just right and it makes it easier to work from anywhere – which I also like to use when I travel.
Vacations are important to me to get new inspiration, maintain contacts and recharge my batteries. Of course, I also have a “vacation” app folder with apps like Airbnb (for Android) for inspiration and planning.
By the way: When I fly, I not only compensate for my carbon emissions through the airlines' offers, but I also do something else to offset my CO2 emissions. With OneClimate (for Android), we have developed a suitable app that makes it easy for everyone to analyze their own carbon footprint and increase their carbon handprint – which is created by all the climate actions they take for a better climate.
ChatGPT and a not so secret insider tip
I strongly believe that we can – and must – use artificial intelligence for a lot of good! It's almost quite banal that I also use ChatGPT (for Android) again and again to formulate my ideas for business. The browser Brave (for Android) is, by the way, my no longer so secret insider tip for everyone who values data security – and who is looking for a completely new way of using the Internet.
Audible (for Android) provides me with the perfect balance in my everyday life: I love audiobooks! Especially fiction and beauties, to relax and fall asleep to. I prefer to read non-fiction books or use Blinkist (for Android) to get the most important content for further education in a snackable format.
Every morning I get up and brush my teeth on the balcony – so that the sun's rays really wake up my body and my biorhythm runs as naturally as possible. I also use Waking Up (for Android) for guided meditations and for inspiration on various topics related to meditation. With the help of the ring and the Oura app (for Android), I track my vital functions and know how to balance tension – full focus on business! – and relaxation.
