The Atari 2600 was released in the USA in 1977. From 1979 it was also sold in Germany. The recommended retail price at the start of sales was $189.95. Adjusted for inflation, this corresponds to a price of around 850 euros today.
While the Atari 2600 lost value over the years and temporarily disappeared into insignificance, it is now considered a collector’s item and one of the most important consoles in video game history. This is also reflected in the value. But other game consoles could soon be worth a lot of money.
Because like the Austrian daily newspaper Oe24 citing a study by Bitcoin Casinos, the increase in value of the Game Boy Advance is approximately 191.7 percent per year. According to the study, the Atari 2600 is currently worth 957.84 euros if it is in good condition. However, the price could rise to 5,254.72 euros by 2028.
