In recent years, fuel prices have risen steadily. The reduction in energy tax decided by the federal government did provide some temporary relief. However, this was not a permanent solution.
When buying a new car, buyers should pay particular attention to the fuel consumption of their dream car. The good news is that there are plenty of economical petrol engines available – from small cars to luxury models.
The most economical petrol engines among small cars
The ADAC regularly maintains a list of new cars with the lowest fuel consumption in various vehicle classes. This was based on the respective manufacturer's information according to the new WLTP cycle. The respective purchase price and the total costs per month were included in the evaluation.
This includes depreciation, tax and insurance as well as inspections, wear and tear repairs and tire replacement. The automobile club calculated the fuel costs based on an annual mileage of 15,000 kilometers. In the following ranking we show you the ten most economical gasoline engines in the small car class – according to the ADAC.
10th place: Renault Captur E-Tech Hybrid 145 Techno Automatic
The Renault Captur E-Tech Hybrid 145 Techno Automatic is in tenth place in the ranking. It consumes 100 kilometers 4.7 liters of petrolThe total cost is 52.8 cents per kilometer. The base price of the car is 30,450 euros.
