Inflation, high interest rates and diesel driving bans are currently causing uncertainty among drivers. This is also reflected in the stagnating market. More and more people therefore seem to prefer to rely on their old cars instead of investing in a new one.
According to the TÜV report 2024, the average age of the vehicle fleet in Germany has even reached a new high: ten years. However, one in five cars does not pass the general inspection due to significant or dangerous defects. The TÜV therefore took a closer look at the defect rates of the various vehicles in the individual car age groups.
The best cars in Germany according to TÜV
The main inspection results of all TÜV companies in Germany are included in the TÜV report. That's more than ten million general inspections between July 2022 and June 2023. Result: While some vehicles seem to be in the workshop more often than in the garage, there are almost never any problems with others. In the following ranking we show you the ten best cars in Germany in the age group up to three years, based on the rate of significant defects (EM).
10th place: Audi Q5
The Audi Q5 comes in tenth place in the ranking of the best cars in Germany in the age group up to three years. The TÜV provided one EM quota of 3.3 percent firmly. The vehicle is one of the best-selling Audi models and always performs very well in general inspections.
