Most people are now largely digitally networked. Many aspects of daily life take place online. Digitalization brings with it many advantages. But as technology continues to develop, new threats to cybersecurity emerge.
To protect yourself from hackers and cyber attacks, experts recommend installing antivirus programs. They are intended to protect consumers from phishing, ransomware and the like.
The best antivirus programs
Antivirus software protects computers and mobile devices from threats, constantly monitoring systems for signs of malware and defending against them. In order to identify the best programs, Stiftung Warentest tested a total of 28 virus scanners for Windows and Mac.
The consumer organization tested how well the virus scanners worked in three waves of attacks. A team of IT experts collected around 30,000 malware for Windows, 300 for Android and 15 Mac attackers. Platz 10: Norton 360 Deluxe
In tenth place in the ranking of the best antivirus programs is Norton's 360 Deluxe Protection for PC, Mac, iOS and Android. The software received the Overall grade 1.8. Stiftung Warentest gave the protective effect a partial rating of 1.6. The handling and computer load are considered “very good”. However, the consumer organization found clear deficiencies in the data protection declaration.
