According to media reports, the new financing is intended to increase the company evaluation of Revolut to 55 billion euros. Revolut has not yet confirmed this.

According to Financial Times (FT), Revolut is in discussions about a financing round of the equivalent of 850 million euros ($ 1 billion) to finance the company's global expansion.

Possible secondary sale

The financing round would bring the assessment of the London fintech to 55 billion euros ($ 65 billion), the report says. That is 20 billion more than a year ago.

In June, the FT reported that Revolut boss Nik Storonsky could earn billions if it increases the company value to $ 150 billion-this is possible for a musk-like bonus deal. This funding round could bring him one step closer to this earnout.

In addition to the sale of new shares, shares that have already been held could also change the owner. According to insiders, the US investor Balderton is on the list of potential sellers and could hand over part of his participation in revolut.

The US investment company Greenoaks is to cite the new financing round. The Abu Dhabi State Fund Mubadala, which has been invested since 2024, also wants to expand its participation according to FT.

Neither Revolut nor the potential investors commented on the possible finance round on request from the Financial Times.

Impressive result

Revolut surprised with impressive figures in April: According to the annual report, Revolut generated sales of 3.7 billion euros in 2024, 72 percent more than in the previous year.

The profit before tax was increased by 158 percent to 1.3 billion euros. After taxes, DigitalBank remained 934 million euros.

Sales growth was largely driven by the income from the investment and plant business, which rose by 289 percent to just under 600 million euros.

Salary account dilemma

Despite impressive user numbers and product innovations, Neobanken and Revolut continue to fight with a well -known problem: They are usually not the account for receipt – an important factor for customer loyalty and monetization.

Many use Revolut and other neobans primarily as a second account or for specific applications.
