With a total financing of 310 million euros and wants to further expand the company from Balderton and armaments companies such as Hensoldt and investors such as Peter Thiel.
A few weeks ago, the news of the big financing was already circulating, now it is official: The Bavarian Drone Startup Quantum Systems completes a 160 million euro Series-C. The investment company Bullhound Capital, the Swiss VC LP & E AG as well as existing investors, including HV Capital, Project A, US-Milliardär and Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel, DTCP, OMNES Capital, took part in the lead balder tone and the Bavarian armaments supplier Hensoldt, Airbus Defense and Space Airbus Ventures, Porsche and Notion.
With this round, Quantum Systems apparently achieves an evaluation of more than one billion dollars. “This brings our total financing volume to 310 million euros and officially makes us unicorn,” the company writes in a post on LinkedIn. Like the contribution of the founder Florian Seibel, this is provided with a picture that, at first glance, looks a cinema plakat for an Oliver Stone War Film. Looking at a closer look: a futuristic, silver fighting onehorn. Almost already in the mail that sounds like pathos: “We are not here to follow. We are here to lead.”
Expansion and increase in production planned planned
According to a press release, the fresh capital should accelerate the company's global expansion. Annual sales growth of 100 percent can already be seen. The expansion of production and further development of the autonomous drone systems, software and artificial intelligence of the company are now planned. The Scaleup with around 550 employees, who are spread over various continents, already maintains branches in Los Angeles, Australia, in Ukraine, in Bucharest and, as was announced at the beginning of this week, in Spain. In the UK, Quantum Systems bought a competitor, Nordic Unmanned UK. In March 2025, the company also took over the North Rhine-Westphalian drone company Airrobot.

The company from Gilching near Munich has thus developed a role as a leading manufacturer of compact drones for sensor -based data acquisition. And that in dual use, i.e. for both military and civilian purposes: originally, the founders wanted to build aircraft, which should be used primarily when measuring landscapes, agriculture or in search and rescue operations. As soon as the Ukraine War is over, one wants to concentrate more on it again, according to founder Florian Seibel, formerly a pilot in the Bundeswehr and aviation engineer, in an interview with start-up scene. In 2015, he was founded together with Michael Kriegel, Tobias Kloss and Armin Busse Quantum System.
Seibel recently initiated a kind of spin-off from his company: the Defenseetech company strongly based in Berlin and Kiev. This in turn dealt with the construction of drones, in contrast to Quantum Systems, also with armed people who are to be used exclusively militarily.
