Armor unicorn Helsing wants to build unmanned fighter jet

The Munich Defense-Tech Helsing presented its plans for an autonomous fight jet today. It should be able to be produced in series in four years.

The defense tech startup Helsing plans to develop an unmanned fighter plane called “CA-1 Europe”. The startup announced this in a company announcement.

The jet is to fly autonomously and be controlled using Helsings-Ki “Centaur”. The startup presented the design today at the location of the Helsing subsidiary Grob Aircraft in Tussenhausen. Also there: Markus Söder.

According to the company, “CA-1 Europe” is a multi-purpose jet that is designed for use alone or in the swarm. The jet also has a flexible software operating system and can be equipped with different sensors, protection systems and armament.

Helsing: Evaluation at 12 billion euros

Helsing has raised 1.6 billion euros in investor funds since its foundation in 2021. It was only in June of this year that the startup completed a finance round of 600 million euros. Spotify founder Daniel Ek has also invested.

With this financing, Helsing achieved an assessment of 12 billion euros. Two years ago, the Defense-Tech broke the billions of bills for the first time and became Germany's first armaments unicorn.
