Space Tech is an industry similar to Food Tech, Ed Tech or Climate Tech, which somehow sounds more exciting in English. That's why this Anglicism has already established itself in the startup scene – nobody talks about space technology.
For decades, space travel was dominated by large, state-run institutions such as the American NASA, the European Esa and the Russian Roscosmos. Until Elon Musk founded a modern space tech startup in 2002 with his PayPal fortune. SpaceX, for which it was ridiculed at the time, is now one of the pioneers in the new space program and is said to be worth around 340 billion euros (350 billion dollars).
