Below we look at the most important functions, installation and scope of delivery to give you an idea of the advantages and performance of the revolutionary robotic lawnmower.

Scope of delivery

The LUBA 2 AWD 1000 is delivered in two packages, each containing all the necessary components for quick commissioning. In addition to the robotic lawnmower itself, the delivery also includes the charging station, the associated power supply, a set of replacement blades and all the screws and fastening materials required to install the charging station. In addition, a user manual and a quick start guide are included to facilitate the installation process.

Installation

The installation of the LUBA 2 AWD 1000 is much simpler compared to traditional robotic lawnmowers that require boundary wires. Thanks to RTK GPS technology, laying boundary wires is completely eliminated. The first step is to set up the charging station in a suitable location, preferably in an easily accessible and level area of the lawn.

The mower is then set up using the associated app, in which the exact lawn area and the desired mowing zones are defined. The robotic lawnmower maps the area independently and can be controlled and monitored using the app.

The LUBA 2 directly after unpacking

This simple process significantly reduces the installation effort and makes the LUBA 2 AWD 1000 an excellent choice for anyone who wants a quick and hassle-free start-up. The company itself states that setting up the robotic lawnmower takes just 18 minutes. We can confirm this, it took us around 20 minutes to be able to use the LUBA 2.

Main features and design

As mentioned, the LUBA 2 uses advanced RTK GPS technology to precisely navigate the mowing area. This is precisely why the annoying laying of boundary wires is no longer necessary.

The mower has an all-wheel drive (AWD) system that allows it to work easily on uneven terrain and slopes up to 38°. Its robust design and durable wheels provide excellent traction and stability, even on wet surfaces.

Performance and efficiency

The LUBA 2 AWD 1000 does not mow according to the chaotic principle, as is the case with many older or simpler robotic lawnmowers. Instead, it uses its high-precision navigation system to work the lawn systematically and efficiently. This means that the robotic lawnmower drives across the terrain in clearly defined paths and avoids crossing or skipping the same areas multiple times. This orderly mowing pattern not only ensures a uniform cutting pattern, but also optimised mowing time and energy efficiency.

The LUBA 2 during the mowing process

The robotic lawnmower performs well on both flat and steep lawns. On flat surfaces, the LUBA 2 delivers an even cut without excessive mowing. On slopes, the AWD drive shows its strengths by controlling the mower safely and precisely without sacrificing performance.

The device can easily navigate complex lawns with obstacles such as trees and flowerbeds without you having to manually intervene in the mowing process.

Adjustable cutting height

The LUBA 2 AWD 1000 offers flexible cutting height adjustment, allowing you to trim the lawn to a height between 25 mm and 70 mm as needed. This adjustment option is particularly useful for adjusting the mower to different lawn types and growing conditions. This range of cutting heights means the robotic lawnmower can be used for both short, finely cut ornamental lawns and slightly longer, more robust grass areas.

Battery life and charging time

With a battery life of up to three hours on a full charge, the LUBA 2 AWD 1000 can efficiently manage gardens of up to 1,000 square meters. The charging time is around 90 minutes and the mowing time per charge is 120 minutes. The robotic lawnmower then automatically returns to the charging station.

Smart features and app integration

The accompanying Mammotion app allows you to conveniently control the mower remotely, set mowing schedules and track the mower's location in real time. The app also comes with maintenance reminders and updates, making it easier to maintain the device.

Additional features

In addition to its basic functions, the robotic lawnmower offers some interesting additional features that set it apart from other robotic lawnmowers. One of these features is the “printing” function. This allows the mower to leave creative patterns on the lawn, similar to the striped lawns in stadiums. This function uses the mower's precise navigation system to create even, repeatable lines or patterns, giving the lawn a professional, well-maintained look.

In addition, the LUBA 2 AWD 1000 has a multi-zone function. This allows you to define up to 10 different mowing zones within a garden. This is particularly useful for complex properties with different lawns that need to be mowed at different frequencies or to different heights. The integration of sensors and cameras for obstacle detection also ensures that the mower navigates safely and efficiently around obstacles without the need for human intervention.

Security features

Safety features such as lift and tilt sensors ensure that the blades stop immediately if the mower is lifted or tips over. GPS tracking also provides effective theft protection.

Disadvantages

For us, the only disadvantage is the relatively high price of 2,199 euros compared to simpler models. The LUBA 2 AWD 1000 is aimed primarily at users who are looking for a long-term and reliable solution for lawn care. If you are willing to invest in innovative technology, the LUBA 2 is the right choice.

However, if you consider the time saved in setting up and maintaining a boundary wire, the higher price is justified.

Conclusion of our LUBA 2 AWD 1000 test

The LUBA 2 AWD 1000 is a great choice for homeowners who value cutting-edge, user-friendly and powerful mowing technology. Despite the higher price, its advanced features and high efficiency make it good value for money. Especially for demanding lawns.

For us, the biggest advantages are the huge time savings because you don't have to lay a boundary wire. And the fact that the LUBA 2 doesn't mow in a chaotic manner, but in orderly lines.
