The hype surrounding artificial intelligence does not stop at Meta either. The Facebook company has now turned celebrities into chatbots and lets its users chat with Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Tom Brady and Co.
Bringing artificial intelligence closer to the younger generations – Meta is now trying to do just that with the celebrity factor. The Facebook company has introduced various chatbots that are based on characters like Snoop Dogg or Kendall Jenner.
AI is not just about having questions answered, Meta explains in a blog post. Rather, it’s also about having fun while interacting with AI systems.
For this purpose, Meta has launched another 28 AI chatbots in addition to Meta AI. With them, users can now chat on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.
Meta develops chatbots with a celebrity factor
Meta expects its new chatbots to produce AI systems with “more personality, opinions and interests”. It is about “a new cast of characters” who all have a “unique background”.
We worked with cultural icons and influencers to play and embody some of these AIs.
The conversations should feel like “interaction with familiar people”. To enhance this effect, Meta relies on the celebrity factor for its AI chatbots.
Which celebrities have their own chatbot?
Meta recruited celebrities such as Tom Brady, Snoop Dogg and Paris Hilton for the project. But Kendall Jenner and Charli D’Amelio are also there.
Meta is now introducing the first characters in a beta version in the USA. In the coming weeks, the company plans to add more AI chatbots, which will be played by Bear Grylls, Chloe Kim and Josh Richards, among others.
However, the group points out that AI is still “in its infancy”. The characters’ knowledge mainly comes from before 2023. Therefore, some answers may be outdated.
