The German robotics market is booming. Latest news from this area: Earlier this week, the Stuttgart-based startup Sereact announced a 25 million euro round. It was led by the Swedish VC Creandum, and angel investors such as the German former Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg, Mehdi Ghissassi, product manager at Google Deep Mind, and Ott Kaukver, head of technology at Checkout.com, were also there. Just a year and a half ago, the startup, which develops artificial intelligence for robots that work in warehouses, raised five million euros in a seed round.
According to Statista, sales in Germany are forecast to be around 4.48 billion euros this year. Of this, service robotics is expected to dominate the market with a market volume of 3.72 billion euros. “The market potential of cognitive robotics is greater than that of smartphones,” says David Reger, CEO of NEURA Robotics. And investors apparently know this too: German startups in the robotics scene receive investments from all over the world.
